Viatec's speed indicator is a low cost, non punitive device which can be set up in minutes resulting in immediate reductions in vehicle speeds. The device can be set to the statutory limit and will react by showing the excess speed value and a ‘sad face' intermittently. Conversely, drivers observing the speed limit are rewarded with a ‘smiley face'.

An advanced version can store retrievable traffic information for later analysis, the parameters being set by an additional ‘Palm Pilot' compatible with VDA-Pro or VDA 2 analysis suites.
